"I enjoy watching students when it clicks for them…that moment at which the movement makes sense or the music is perfectly interpreted or when they make the dance completely their own." -Leila Leila teaches with a sense of humor and the approach that little things can make a big difference to your dance. She has taught seminars in many cities in the US, in the United Kingdom and Eastern Europe. She teaches in Egypt at the Nilegroup Festival held 4 times throughout the year and for dance tour groups in Cairo. She can teach a variety of workshops including classical Egyptian choreography, classical Egyptian technique, Saidi Folklore, Nubian Folklore, Shabi technique, Meleya technique, Beledi Improvisation and Solo
Tabla. Here is what a few people have to say about Leila’s teaching: "Leila's incredible ability as a stage performer crosses over easily into being a skillful instructor. She is focused, engaging, and motivates the dancers to work efficiently and effectively. Her workshops are educational, intense and technique-oriented. And Leila's easy-going personality spurs informative Q&A discussions and conversations during breaks and following the lessons. It is a pleasure and honor to host Leila in Seattle." “We were lucky enough to have Leila visit from Cairo and teach workshops in the North East of England. Leila was a delight - her style elegant and flowing. Her teaching approach is warm and friendly. She explained moves and combinations so that most people got them, though with differing degrees of accomplishment. Even those that struggled seemed happy just to watch Leila dance. A true inspiration. Folks just want to go to Cairo and see her perform with a live band.” –Kay Taylor www.faridadance.com “Leila is an excellent teacher and a pleasure to sponsor. Her workshops were well-organized, with plenty of really interesting and unusual material presented in an orderly, accessible way. She is very warm and good-humored, making jokes and putting the students at ease. She breaks things down well, and makes sure everyone "gets it." The students all raved about her, and wanted her back. I have presented and attended many workshops: Leila was wonderful in every aspect, from planning to presentation: calm, sunny, and down to earth.” -Alia Talbit http://earth-goddess.com
